Students attend Omaha Virtual School (OVS) at the DoSpace one day a week for three hours. Class times are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Students meet in their grade-level classroom. Currently, we have K–1, 2–3, 4–5, and 6–8 grade classrooms. During the in-person enrichment time, students are actively engaged in a station rotation instructional model.
OVS students have access to a school-assigned computer at no charge. Extracurricular activities are available after school.
Class sizes are small and differ on a day-to-day and period-to-period basis, depending on the needs of the students and how they are progressing. Class time is dedicated to helping students master what they have not yet mastered through both direct instruction via their teachers and the online curriculum. Students who desire more time with teachers or who are struggling with concepts and skills are welcome to attend daily office hours from 1:30–3:00 PM. Office hours are offered in-person or online.
As a public school, OVS students must demonstrate their knowledge and skills through school assessments as well as required state standardized tests.
